Andrea James appointed to Petroleum Group Committee


Badley Ashton's Chief Geologist, Andrea James has been appointed on to the Petroleum Group Committee. Andrea will join Mike Ashton on the committee and replace Badley Ashton's CEO, Meriem Bertouche who is stepping down. The Petroleum Group is the Geological Society's specialist group dedicated to petroleum exploration and production. Its mandate is to advance the study and understanding of petroleum geology, through conferences, workshops, publications and the encouragement of research, in addition to representing the Society in respect of petroleum geological issues. The Committee runs the group and draws its members from industry and academia.


Andrea has been with Badley Ashton for over 25 years. She specialises in integrated clastic reservoir description and has worked on projects in the North Sea, the Gulf of Mexico, the former Soviet Union, North Africa and the Middle East. She was appointed to the role of Chief Geologist in 2003 and is now responsible for ensuring the technical quality of Badley Ashton reports as well as overseeing the technical development of the company and staff training.
