Naomi Fund Bike Challenge 2017 - London to Paris

On Friday 21st July a team of 23 cyclists with 11 support crew (the L2P-24 Team) will be attempting to cycle the 270 miles from Great Ormond Street Hospital, London, to the Eiffel Tower, Paris, in 24 hours.

All monies raised are given to the Naomi Fund, which in turn gives to Great Ormond Street Hospital; Glenfield Hospital, Leicester; and Grantham Kingfisher Ward. These are all marvellous places providing care for children with serious illnesses. The L2P-24 Team are raising money to help keep these hospitals/wards functioning so they can continue to provide the very best critical care and support for the children and parents when they most need it. Truly, wonderful people, doing truly wonderful things on a day-to-day basis.

Gerry Hyde, Badley Ashtons' Resources and Knowledge Manager and his wife, Louise will be part of the L2P-24 Team! Both are keen triathletes but even so, the training and planning of this challenge has dominated their lives over the past months. In an attempt to condition their ever more creaking bodies (their words, not mine!) to take on this challenge, they have made many long rides, including the 115 mile Tour of the Peaks, practice night rides and 100+ mile weekend outings, along with regular 50-80 mile rides. They hope to be in good shape for Friday 21st - I guess we'll find out after the first 100 miles!

Gerry and Louise have set up a Gift Aid site which can be found on this link: Gerry and Louise's Just Giving Page

The Team of cyclists and support crew will be putting in a big effort on the road on 21/22 July, so please, please give as generously as you can.
